To day Capt. James Wrigley arrived home on the Steamer Ruthven, looking quite well. Sam* Sharp, the little woman [Margaret Hall Stewart nee Sharp], Nellie* [Mary Alexandrien Sharp nee Lemaire], Mrs. Lund, Miss Lizzie Robinson, Charley Lund and myself went out to gum lake on a fishing excursion and caught quite a nice mess, which we enjoyed in the woods with considerable gusto, indeed we passed a pleasant day and all appeared to enjoy themselves hugely. Boys at work on the fence. weather cloudy and rather warm.

*This Sam and Nellie are 2nd great-grandparents to the Keeper of this family history blog.
