Saturday, April 15th, 1865

To day I am still in Liberty and still stopping with Capt. Peacock. The Steamer Mary Hill arrived from Houston being the first boat that has come up since I have been here. At home Hicks ground 1 bushel of corn. The little woman [Margaret Hall Stewart nee Sharp] let Mrs. Wortham have 100 lbs of shorts. Weather variable & cool.
