To day the boys are still at work plowing the corn in the lower field. I am engaged in taking down the chimney to the steam house, & in working the garden. Sam* [Samuel Houston Sharp] ground 2 bushels of corn. weather cloudy & warm with indications of rain.
*This Sam is a 2nd great-grandpa to the Keeper of this family history blog.
