To day I remained at home, writing up this note book. The little woman [Margaret Hall Stewart nee Sharp] is still doing her own house work. Col. James Wrigley dismissed his former slaves Charley and Rose for impertenance. I loaned my revolver to James Wrigley to go out to Mr. Minter's for the purpose of arresting said Minter on a charge of an assault to commit murder on the person of Mr. Lacour. The party went but were unsuccessful. Weather clear and cool.
