Monday, March 17th, 1862

To day the steamer Ruthven arrived bringing some considerable freight, and I am busy in the ware house with the boys storing the same away. In the evening the steamer left for Galveston and Capt. James Wrigley* left on her in as big a drunk as ever I have heretofore seen him. Business dull. weather clear & pleasant.

*Wrigley had just buried his brother, John, on the 9th.
