To day I am engaged as salesman in the store, but little business however doing. weather cloudy and rainy. it is very cool for the season.

To day I am engaged in the store. The Steamer Ruthven arrived and James Wrigley came home on her. weather cloudy with hard rain at night & very warm.

To day I am loafing around the store. I passed a very disagreeable night, being sick nearly the whole of last night, with something like the "cholera morbus", but entirely well in the morning. weather changable and warm.

To day the steamer Alamo passed down the river with but little freight. James Wrigley left on the Ruthven for Galveston. business is very dull. weather changable and rather warm.

To day I am engaged in the sales room as salesman. doing some business in the rail road trade. The river is still falling. weather clear & pleasant.

To day I am at work in the ware house. Frank Stewart arrived with the little wagon from the mill. the mules looking very bad and much jaded. weather cloudy with a light rain in the morning.
