To day the Steamer Ruthven arrived from Galveston. Capt. James Wrigley came home on her. He appears to be in fine health. Sam* Sharp went after my mules that run off on yesterday. he over hauled them about 10 or 11 miles up the road, and drove them back by luck. Bill taken sick, and nothing doing on my fence. at night I had to turn out on patrol service. weather clear & warm.
