Friday, October 28th, 1864

To day we again gathered pecans until about 1 o'clk. P.M. when we all left for home. We returned by Mr. Keen's and there his party left us. The rest arrived home about dark and found Nellie* and the little Major [James Hall Sharp] quite sick. Hicks ground 2 bushels of corn yesterday & two bushels more to-day. Weather clear and rather cold.
