To day I left Crockett for home after getting my detail as a miller. upon my return home I found Josephine [Josephine Martha Hall] with a fever. John rode up to Prewitt's tan yard and succeeded in getting my shoes. I am still sick with the sore mouth. Hicks ground 2 bushels of wheat & 18 bushels of corn. Weather cloudy & cold with drizzling rain throughout the entire day.
