To day the boys are at work chopping & hauling wood. Nellie [Mary Alexandrien Sharp nee Lemaire], Fawn [Florence Mahala Hall] & little Major [James Hall Sharp] are still sick. Jim [James Wrigley Hall] is still down at Mother's [Mahala Sharp Hall nee Roberts]. I wove a little on the jeans to try my hand. Wash Leaverton came up from Mothers and brought me $2½ sent by her to pay for the making of shoes. Hicks ground 16 bushels of corn. Weather variable & cold with a hard frost & freeze at night.
