To day we are all at work on the mill and after getting it repaired, Hicks ground 9 bushels of corn and 2 bushels of wheat. The little woman [Margaret Hall Stewart nee Sharp] is at work gardening and planted out her irish potatoes. I worked a little in the shop & repaired the little woman's rocking chair. James Roberts came up and commenced making me a raw hide lariet or lasso. he returned to Father's [Joshua James Hall] in the evening. Weather clear & cool with a hard frost at night.
