To day after getting some leather from Mr. Prewitt, for which we had to leave the little wagon & Tubbs as it was not ready for delivery & will not be until to morrow, Mother [Mahala Sharp Hall nee Roberts] & I left in the buggy for home where we arrived about sun down, too late for Mother to go home therefore she remained all night. John is at work hauling wood. Hicks ground 11 bushels of corn. At night Mr. Day remained with me. Weather clear & hot.
